You may have learned about the three R’s in school while you were growing up: reading, writing, and arithmetic. Maybe you learned the three R’s of sustainability: reduce reuse, recycle (there are several more R’s on this list now). However, it’s a shame that they don’t teach you about the three R’s of Indramat service in school. Everyone who owns, or works with, an Indramat industrial motion control system should know what to do when that system stops working.
First things first
The first thing that you need to do is look up your Indramat error code in your troubleshooting guide. Your Indramat troubleshooting guide tells you what’s causing your error code and how to fix it. Causes are listed in order of most likely to the least likely. You can get a replacement Indramat manual here.
Sometimes you can troubleshoot an error code without needing to fix or replace parts of your system. This can save a lot of time, and as you already know the longer your system is down, the greater the financial burden. Call 479-422-0390 to quickly diagnose your Indramat error code, and get on the right track to restore your system.
If you can’t clear your Indramat error code in-house, then it’s time to move on to the three R’s of Indramat service: repair, remanufacture, and replace.
DIY repair for Indramat servos, drives, and controls isn’t really an option. Indramat servos are not designed to be repaired in the field. They are designed for easy removal so they can be sent into the factory for a repair, however.
Sending your Indramat drive or servo to a generic third party repair shop is risky. You might get a quality repair, but there’s no guarantee. Bosch Rexroth, the company that owns the Indramat brand, does not authorize third parties, and they do not provide original parts to third parties.
Your most reliable option for a repair is an Indramat factory repair. A factory repair restores your unit to like new condition and comes back to you with a one-year warranty. We offer Indramat factory repair services with a 24-hour turnaround.
A remanufacture, or reman, is a step up from a factory repair. Reman is like getting a brand new unit. Your original unit is updated to the latest version, all components are replaced, and your unit is tested to original factory specifications. Reman units come back to you with a new two-year factory warranty.
Sometimes your unit may be beyond repair. We tend to see this with units that have been misused, or repaired by third parties in the past. Indramat built drives and servos to run reliably for decades. However, neglecting your machinery, or trying your luck with a third party repair shop, can lead to irreversible damage and require a replacement for your machinery.
Whether you need a repair, reman, or a replacement Indramat drive, motor, or control, we can help. Call 479-422-0390 for immediate support for Indramat systems.
