The DKC 11.3 is often referred to as the dumb drive, which is unfair, but also accurate. Where all the other DKC drives have an input BGR card or brain, this drive simply has a blank cover plate. It is used as a velocity drive, where another unit (like a CLM) closes the position loop. It is distinguishable by the blank cover plate halfway up on the right side of the front.
One of the great strengths of the Indramat electric motion control system is its modular design. Pull a faulty unit and replace it with a new unit. It’s that simple.
This reduces downtime, which is the most costly thing about a faulty unit.
Factory repair and reman provide you with a like-new replacement for the faulty part, and you’re good for years to come.
Third-party repairs may tempt you, but you’ll find that you’re repairing your components much too often. We can tell you this without knowing anything about the third-party repair shop you plan to work with for two simple reasons.
First, third-party repair shops cannot get original parts or specs. We see a lot of DKC drives that have been through third-party repair, so we’ve seen the heavily used parts cannibalized from old drives, the bubblegum and toothpicks workarounds, and the almost-the-same parts from other companies. The result is a mess.
Factory repair or reman is literally like new.
The second problem is that third-party repair shops have to pull your DKC 11.3 off the machine and take it away to their bench. Occasionally they’ll try to fix it in situ, which is not recommended. Either way, your facility is stuck waiting for the repair.
We have the largest selection of emergency replacement parts in the nation, and a charter plane to get them to you fast. You’re up and running while you wait for your factory repair. Call today for immediate assistance.
